Must my web page tell the story of my entire family?

Must everything be publicly viewable?

No. In fact, your website is completely private until your death. While you are alive and building your family website it is accessible only to you and those you with whom you choose to share your password. Upon your death you will have the option of designating information as either publicly viewable, family access only, or trustee access only. Be aware, however, that future generations will need to the password to have access to that information limited only to family or trustees.

 

Can I get information from my parent’s website or my grandparents’ website to create my own family website?

Yes. You may either link directly to their websites or they can export stories, pictures, videos and recordings from their website to yours.
